We care about your privacy
At People Ventures, we take privacy seriously. Ours and yours. This policy explains how we handle personal data and how we comply with the EU General Data Protections Regulation (GDPR).
This policy applies in all situations where People Ventures processes personal data, unless otherwise is specifically mentioned.
What is personal data?
Personal data is any information that can identify a person, directly or indirectly, by reference to details such as a name, an identification number, location data, or other unique identifiers.
What we collect and why
We only collect the data you choose to share with us. That could be when you sign up for events, apply for a job, contact us, or send your pitch deck.
When you send us your pitch deck
If you email us your pitch deck or related information, we treat it as confidential. We use it only to discuss potential partnership opportunities and do not share it with third parties without your consent.
We use your data to stay in touch and respond to your requests, review and evaluate potential collaborations, and make your experience with us smoother and more personal.
We only collect what’s necessary — and never more than that.
How we protect your data
Your data is stored securely and handled responsibly. We have internal safeguards in place to protect it from loss, misuse, or unauthorised access. If something goes wrong, for example, a data breach, we’ll act fast. You’ll be informed within 72 hours, along with an explanation of what we’re doing to fix it.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as it’s relevant for the purpose it was collected.
If you ask us to delete your data, we’ll do so as soon as possible – always within 90 days.
If we haven’t been in touch for over 12 months, we may delete your information to keep our records clean.
When we share data
We don’t sell, trade, or share your personal data – ever. The only exception is when we work with trusted partners who help us operate (like event platforms or IT providers). They’re legally bound to handle your information confidentially and only for the purpose agreed upon.
We only transfer data outside the EU/EEA if there’s a legal reason, and we’ll always let you know before that happens.
Our website sometimes links to external event pages or third-party platforms like lu.ma. These sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle personal data.
Cookies
We use cookies to make our website work better and to understand how it’s used.
You can turn off or delete cookies in your browser at any time. Doing so might affect some parts of the site, but never your privacy.
Read our full Cookie Policy for more details.
Your rights
You have the right to know what data we hold about you and how we use it, ask for corrections if something is wrong, and request that we delete your data.
If you believe we’re processing your data incorrectly, contact us – and we’ll sort it out as quickly as possible.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally to reflect new rules or ways of working.
You’ll always find the latest version here.
