We care about your privacy

At People Ventures, we take privacy seriously. Ours and yours. This notice explains how we handle personal data on our website and in our day-to-day contact with you, and how we comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

It covers the people we meet through our website, events and job applications, and the founders who send us their pitch decks. How we handle personal data as part of running the fund, for our investors and portfolio companies, is set out separately in our internal Data Processing and GDPR Policy.

Who we are

People Ventures Management ApS (CVR 42245399), Erik Husfeldts Vej 7, 2630 Taastrup, is the data controller for the personal data described here, which means we decide why and how it is processed. You can reach us any time at privacy@people.ventures.

What is personal data?

Personal data is any information that can identify a person, directly or indirectly: a name, an email address, an identification number, location data, or other details unique to you.

What we collect and why

We only collect what you choose to share with us, for example when you sign up for an event, apply for a job, get in touch, or send us your pitch deck. We use it to:

•  stay in touch and respond to you,

•  review and evaluate potential collaborations and investments,

•  run our events and consider job applications,

•  and make your experience with us smoother.

We only collect what we need, and never more.

When you send us your pitch deck

If you email us your pitch deck or related material, we treat it as confidential. We use it only to consider a potential investment or partnership, we do not sell or trade it, and we do not pass it to anyone outside our firm for their own purposes. If we decide not to invest now, we may keep your deck as background so we can follow how your company develops and pick the conversation up again if it becomes relevant. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

The tools we use, including AI

We run on a small set of trusted software tools, and we use AI to help us organise and review what we receive (including pitch decks) so we can respond well and spend our time where it matters. These providers process data on our instructions, under data processing agreements, and only for us. We do not use your data to train public AI models, and our AI providers do not train their models on it.

Why we are allowed to process your data

We rely on one of these legal grounds, depending on the situation:

•  your consent (for example for certain communications, which you can withdraw at any time),

•  our legitimate interest in finding, evaluating and building relationships around investment opportunities, and in running our firm, and

•  a legal obligation, where the law requires us to keep certain records.

How we protect your data

Your data is stored securely and handled responsibly, with access limited to the people who need it. If something goes wrong, for example a data breach that puts your rights at risk, we act fast: you will be informed within 72 hours, along with what we are doing to fix it.

Where your data is processed

We keep data within the EU/EEA where we can. Some of our providers are based outside it (for example in the United States), and where that happens we rely on an approved safeguard under the GDPR, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, so your data stays protected.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as it is relevant for the purpose we collected it. If you ask us to delete your data, we will do so as soon as we can, and within one month. And if we have not been in touch for over 12 months, we may delete your information to keep our records tidy.

When we share data

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data. The only exception is the trusted providers who help us operate (such as our software, cloud and AI providers, event platforms, and IT support). They are bound by contract to handle your data confidentially and only for the purpose we agree.

Our website sometimes links to external event pages or platforms like lu.ma. These have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle personal data.

Cookies

We use cookies to make our website work and to understand how it is used. You can turn off or delete cookies in your browser at any time. Doing so might affect parts of the site, but never your privacy. See our Cookie Policy for more.

Your rights

You have the right to:

•  know what data we hold about you and how we use it,

•  ask us to correct anything that is wrong,

•  ask us to delete your data,

•  ask us to restrict or object to how we use it,

•  receive your data in a portable form, and

•  withdraw your consent at any time, where we relied on it.

To exercise any of these, just contact us at privacy@people.ventures and we will sort it out as quickly as we can.

Complaints

If you think we are handling your data incorrectly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet), our supervisory authority.

We may update this notice from time to time to reflect new rules or ways of working. You will always find the latest version here.
